Plastic-lined ball valves are a type of quarter-turn valve that uses a hollow, perforated, and pivoting “floating” ball to control a fluid’s flow. The specialty valve opens when the ball's hole aligns in the same direction as the flow and pivots closed when you turn the handle 90 degrees.
